Euro-centric Music Radio Portal to Launch

RadioRevolution has announced the creation of what it claims to be the UK's first Internet music radio portal, focused on European listeners.

"In a marketplace dominated by US-based webcasters, it's time for the UK to produce a world-class initiative," said chief executive officer Eugene Perera. "We've assembled a talented team of new media and radio experts who know the UK and European marketplace."

When it launches late this summer, RadioRevolution will be a content-rich music radio site offering a wide range of radio channels and on-demand programs.

"It's not about the Internet, that's just the medium. It's first and foremost about the music," said director of content J.J. Maurage.

But RadioRevolution will also be about e-commerce: The portal will allow listeners to purchase music through an on-line store. "Internet radio with e-commerce stands the best chance of creating the most lucrative music community in the new digital economy," said Harry Leckstein, director of music services at Eunite, which is building RadioRevolution.

In addition, RadioRevolution will serve as a portal to a wide range ofonline music stations from across the world. The service will be accessible through a downloadable audio player that supports all the major streaming formats.
