Fantastic Adopts Minerva Video Networking Technology

The Fantastic Corporation has integrated streaming technology from Minerva Networks Inc. into its multimedia management and distribution platform. Fantastic will use Minerva's MPEG video networking technology to enhance its software platform for the managed distribution of interactive multimedia.

Minerva's streaming technology within the Fantastic platform will be used in a variety of business applications, including enhancing corporate communications such as product launch marketing campaigns and training of geographically distributed staff. The technology may also be used in consumer applications to deliver TV-like broadcasts to end-user multimedia PCs and remote kiosks.

Fantastic's Audio Video Streaming delivery enables streaming of audio/video content to end-users either in real time or from a pre-encoded MPEG file. The integration of Minerva's MPEG technology enables content providers to plan and announce the schedule of streaming to end-users, reserve bandwidth required for the transmission, and control the playout of the broadcast.

"The combination of Minerva's high-quality MPEG encoding and streaming products and Fantastic's multimedia management and distribution platform will provide service providers and corporations with a complete solution to their media delivery needs", said Reto Braun, chairman and CEO of The Fantastic Corporation.
