HBO Go Users Get Preview of Game of Thrones
Besides offering convenience, the HBO Go app now gives early access.
After the sixth episode of HBO's sword and kingdom fantasy series Game of Thrones airs this Sunday at 9PM ET, episode seven, titled "You Win or You Die," will be available immediately through the HBO Go app.
The app is available to those using an Apple iPad, iPhone, or iPod Touch, as well as several Android smartphones. While the app is a free download, streaming content requires an HBO subscription.
At the recent Streaming Media East conference in New York City, HBO co-president Eric Kessler revealed that the HBO Go app was downloaded more than one million times during its first 10 days of availability.
"We've evolved the HBO tag line from 'It's not just television, it's HBO' to simply "It's HBO" in recognition of all the options that customers have to consume content," Kessler told the audience.
"Each month our customers vote on our service with their pocketbook," he said. "HBO Go is portable, free, exclusive, and provides subscribers a tie-in to their pay TV subscription."
