Haivision Acquires CoolSign
IP video company Haivision Network Video announced the purchase of digital signage company CoolSign today, combining its ability to stream video, graphics, and data with CoolSign's delivery to displays, digital frames, desktops, and mobile devices.
Haivision is based in Montreal and Chicago, and offers intelligent IP video networking. It will maintain the CoolSign brand, now folded in with its own list of services. Haivision has already announced that it will bring its Makito HD video encoding to CoolSign, and will extend its Furnace IP video system with CoolSign's digital signage control abilities.
It became obvious that Haivision and CoolSign had a perfectly aligned vision," says Lou Giacalone, Jr., CoolSign's founder. "With our substantial combined technical resources and deep industry expertise under one roof, we can deliver truly disruptive capabilities to the market."
CoolSign was founded in 1998. Its clients include retail, corporate, and digital-out-of-home advertising networks.
"Haivision recognizes the opportunity for converging video streaming, IPTV, interactive media, and digital signage," says Mirko Wicha, president and CEO of Haivision Network Video. "We are positioned as the only company that can deliver end-to-end technology solutions and a unified infrastructure for communications across all media delivery platforms."
