Haivision Enhances Calypso With Secure Multicast Option
At InfoComm 2016, end-to-end video streaming company Haivision announced that it is adding a secure, standards-based multicast option to its Calypso video platform. The option is targeted to organizations looking for solutions beyond Windows Media Server and Microsoft Silverlight—now reaching their end-of-life—and which don't find Java solutions secure enough.
With this enhancement, Haivision is adding encryption that spans from encoder to player to the unicast and multicast options of its Enterprise Video Platform. Organizations that have invested in multicast systems can use Calypso to securely distribute live events, such as town hall meetings, to thousands of viewers on the company LAN.
“Not only is Haivision is one of the most secure enterprise video platforms on the market, we’re helping organizations truly reach every end-point,” says Bruce Zieper, vice president product management for enterprise media at Haivision. “By delivering a secure, standards-based multicast solution, customers can extend the enterprise video experience beyond the browser and mobile devices to large-format digital signage players and set-top boxes in common spaces for group viewing throughout a LAN, reaching every employee throughout the company.”
The Haivision Enterprise Video Platform supports the secure distribution of live and on-demand video to all devices. This release also adds support for single sign-on systems.
