IUMA Introduces the

The Internet Underground Music Archive, IUMA, announced last Thursday that any family which names their newborn baby "IUMA" will be entitled to a cash prize of $5,000 or free IUMA music, downloads, CDs, concerts and merchandise for the rest of their lives.

IUMA is a site dedicated to promoting emerging acts and fresh music. With this promotion, they have added the goal of saving future generations of children from bad pop music.

"Britney Spears and the Backstreet Boys have put our children in peril," warned Antony Brydon, general manager of IUMA. "But a baby named 'IUMA' will grow up in a loving home filled to the brim with the best new music on the planet."

IUMA hopes that their name will soon be sounding out across playgrounds, classrooms and dinner tables.

Two families have decided to participate in the promotion so far. There are photos of the babies and updates on the progress of the promotion listed on IUMA.
