Internet TV Station Launches in Denmark

ScoopStation, a European Internet TV station, has begun broadcasting for the Danish market. The station offers five channels of programs, including news, music, documentaries, lifestyle, extreme, and motors. Several more channels will be introduced in the coming months, and ScoopStation plans to expand into other European markets, as well.

The station gets its content from local and international TV companies, but it also offers its customers a video camera for recording their own lifestyle shows. ScoopStation has also created a couple of interactive TV programs that will showcase the future of streaming video and new media marketing methods. "We are targeting Internet users between 15 and 25 years. They must have ISDN connections for Internet access," says Michael Meister, CEO of ScoopStation. "When even faster connections like ASDL and Internet via cable TV are introduced on a larger scale, we can broadcast full-screen TV in near DVD quality."

A group of Danish investors is backing the ScoopStation initiative. Among them is the ad agency that launched Denmark's first business-to-business Internet TV station last year. The Ingram Micro TV station broadcasts shows and online education to IT dealers.
