Intertainer Adds WMG Videos
Intertainer (www.intertainer.com), an entertainment on-demand broadband network, and Warner Music Group (WMG) have announced a non-exclusive licensing agreement.
Under the agreement, Intertainer will add WMG-controlled music videos to its current offerings. Music videos are available on Intertainer.tv, a high-speed (750 kbps) broadband entertainment on-demand service available through affiliate DSL and cable modem providers, and Intertainer.com, a lower bit-rate (384 kbps) broadband Web site. The WMG (www.wmg.com) music videos are from The Atlantic Group, Elektra Entertainment Group, London-Sire Records, and Warner Bros. Records Inc.
Intertainer will also work with Warner Music Group to market new artists and promote catalog titles.
The music video offerings on both services are free. The intertainer.com Web site relies on ad revenue as well as e-commerce offerings, such as the ability to purchase a CD for the accompanying video. Content on the Intertainer.tv includes first-run pay-per-view movies from Hollywood studios and television programming, as well as music videos and concerts.
"Intertainer's unique on-demand broadband capabilities present an ideal venue for us to showcase our artists," said Paul Vidich, executive vice president, strategic planning and business development for WMG. "By continuing to aggressively license our content to innovative companies like Intertainer, we're able to provide our artists with the widest possible audience while delivering exceptional music to fans around the world."
