Irdeto Debuts TV Everywhere Platform, Content Management Solution
The Netherlands-based global software security and media technology company Irdeto has announced an end-to-end solution for pay TV operators, one that includes multi-device support and social features. At the same time, Irdeto has released the latest version of its content management tool, Irdeto MediaManager.
Irdeto's cloud-based TV Services platform includes reference applications for delivery to tablets, smartphones, and other portables. Broadcasters will also gain social sharing and recommendation features that work with Facebook and Twitter. Real-time search and recommendation tools, powered by Aprico Solutions, personalize the experience for viewers.
The included reference apps let broadcasters build more ambitious social experiences, such as letting viewers play along with contests or compete against their friends. Broadcasters can also create real-time voting and polling. The reference apps are being sold as a white label service.
The upgraded Irdeto MediaManager offers tools for monetizing multi-screen delivery and streaming at scale.
"In a competitive broadcast market, operators must be able to deploy a multi-screen strategy to engage customers, create loyalty, and ensure their future survival. By partnering with innovators in the social TV, app development, and design space, Irdeto is able to help operators rapidly bring to market interactive, personal and social experiences and deliver content to a range of Android devices, connected TVs, iPad, and smart phones," says Doug Lowther, executive vice president for digital TV at Irdeto.
