Keynote Launches Streaming Performance Service
Keynote (http://www.keynote.com) said it was starting a streaming performance service called "Streaming Perspective".
Keynote will measure the performance, availability and quality of audio and video streams, both live and on-demand events. At its core, the service is geared to network professionals and content providers so they can get information on their network and bandwidth providers.
Exodus, a web hosting company, also announced today it was starting a streaming measurement service.
The company also announced it was starting a ranking system to rank streaming quality on a scale from one to ten.
Keynote is also putting together the Streaming Partners Program with a goal of developing the Keynote Scale, a streaming quality scale and benchmark index to establish standards for quality streaming. It is much like its web site performance index, the Keynote Business 40 Index.
Keynote's initial Streaming Partners include Adero, Akamai,Digital Island, Enron, iBeam, Intel, Microsoft, The MTVi Group, and RealNetworks.
