LiveU and Make.tv Partner for Cloud-Based Live Video Production

In what feels like a natural pairing, cellular bonding company LiveU and cloud video production company Make.tv announced a partnership that will bring LiveU streams to the Make.tv online workflow.

When used together, HD video streams from LiveU will feed into Make.tv's browser-based production application Studio. Editors can then mix the LiveU streams with other live streams and enhance their production with included effects. The mixed final stream can then be distributed to any server that supports RTMP video, CDNs such as Akamai or Limelight, or live video destinations such as YouTube Live or Ustream.

Working within a browser, Make.tv's tools let remote teams collaborate for live events. The Make.tv tools work with multiple cameras and support feed switching. Make.tv also offers back channel support, so viewers can send their own live streams and become part of the story.

“By fully integrating our technology, Make.tv will be able to provide, cost-effectively, an even greater experience for viewers, bringing the world closer to home," says Ronen Artman, vice president of marketing for LiveU. "Not only does LiveU’s technology -- be that backpack, belt-clip, smartphone-app, or software-based -- provide tremendous mobility and flexibility, but the studio can now be operated from a laptop at any location with an internet connection.”
