Loudeye Releases Media Syndicator
Loudeye Technologies (http://www.loudeye.com), a provider of digital media services, today announced the commercial release of its Loudeye Media Syndicator—a product used in the secure distribution of streaming media for use in e-commerce or pay-per-view models.
According to the company, the Media Syndicator will allow content owners to securely distribute streaming content while ensuring the use of the content is limited to a specific set of rules. In addition, the syndicator enables existing standard streaming media servers to become syndication servers to further allow content owners fair and proper distribution of their digital media.
"The public availability of Media Syndicator is an important step in the streaming industry," said Martin Tobias, founder, CEO and self-proclaimed "minister of order and reason" for Loudeye Technologies. "Media Syndicator is a direct response to customer demand for new ways to generate revenue from their Internet media investments."
Content owners can install the syndicator as a separate application server on top of existing streaming media delivery servers or implemented as service hosted by Loudeye.
According to Seattle-based Loudeye, the syndicator is format agnostic, supporting both Windows Media and Real formats. The Media Syndicator is available immediately as both a product and service, with pricing on a per client basis.
