Magnify.net Program Adds Pre-roll to Embedded Videos

Site publishers looking to earn extra revenue from their content have a new opportunity, thanks to video host and curator Magnify.net. The company has created the Publisher Controlled Pre-roll program, intended to create a revenue bridge between publishers and video sites.

Under the program, Magnify.net's customers will be able to create their own targeted collections of videos from Magnify.net's library of content, and then assign Dart DoubleClick, OAS, or other ad tags that will attach an advertising campaign to that collection. Videos can come from multiple sources, and can include client-produced, customer-submitted, Web-aggregated, and curated videos.

Metacafe has signed on as one of the program's first partners. Magnify.net will roll out the service to its enterprise customers later this month.

The Publisher Controlled Pre-roll program is meant for customers that want to integrate more revenue-generating videos within their editorial content.

"While embedding has become a significant driver of growth in video views, the video portals that provide the bulk of video content haven't seen an accompanying growth in revenue," says Magnify.net's CEO Steven Rosenbaum. "Now we'll be able to provide scalable access to millions of videos with a contextual seal of approval at the publisher level, creating brand-safe inventory for advertisers and premium prices for content providers."
