Media 100 Launches Integrated Authoring Tool, Competes with Adobe.
CineStream, launched today, allows users to edit video capture from DV cameras, author interactive elements, and encode the final product. The software includes authoring tool EventStream, which enables Web designers to embed interactive instructions into streaming media programs, triggering graphics, Flash animations, or Java applications in sync with streaming video.
CineStream will compete with Adobe's Premiere 6, launched in December, which offers a similar integration of video capturing, editing and encoding tools. "We offer cleaner integration," says CineStream product manager, Michael Micheletti.
The market for integrated web-authoring solutions will grow as streaming media encroaches upon broadcast, according to Media 100 (www.media100.com).
"We believe that Web developers, interactive ad agencies and professional content creators want the same capabilities that the big Internet broadcasters and media moguls possess," said Stephen Manousos, Media 100's vice president of sales and marketing. Manousos was one of four new executive appointments announced by the company today.
