Mirror Image Beta Program Streams Live and Records

Stream video live and have a recorded copy for people to play back on any device in only 15 minutes. That's the promise of the beta-launched Live Stream Record and Playback Service from Mirror Image Internet of Tewksbury, Massachusetts.

To use the service, customers deliver a live video stream to Mirror Image. The live stream is then recorded to local storage, while being pushed out across the company's global network. No more than 15 minutes after a live event completes, the company says, on-demand video will be accessible on any device to a global audience.

The service is launching in beta, says Martin Hayward, Mirror Image's director of marketing, so the company can test the new offering with many customers trying it out. He expects the service to be widely available in a month or two. For now, customers that want be part of the beta release need to call the company and request access.

"This is tremendous news for our customers because it gives them the ability to record, whereas before they didn't have that option," says Hayward.

There's good reason for getting in early: companies that subscribe to the service during the beta period will get a special rate for the length of their contract when the beta ends.

Mirror Image Internet is a subsidiary of Xcelera Inc., an enterprise-class global network for content and streaming media delivery.
