Ramp Partners with Wowza on Live Video Service for SharePoint

Enterprise customers now have a new way to live stream their events: At the Streaming Media West conference currently taking place in sunny Huntington Beach, California, content optimization platform Ramp announced that it has partnered with Wowza Media Systems to create Ramp Video Live, a self-service live webcasting tool native to Microsoft SharePoint.

Ramp Video Live stands apart from traditional live event services in three ways, the company says: it's self-service, requiring no IT support or heavy training; it's native to SharePoint; and it was built with enterprise-level reliability and scalability in mind.

"Ramp Video Live brings self-service live webcasting to global enterprises through our partnership with streaming industry player Wowza," says Ramp CEO Tom Wilde. "Ramp Video Live will provide Global 2000 businesses with a much easier platform to broadcast and archive their live events while drastically reducing overhead costs related to telecom expenses and employee business travel.”

Pricing for Ramp Video Live is by subscription, a rarity, the company notes, as most services in this category charge by the event or by the number of users.

In July, Ramp debuted its first marketing solution, Ramp for Video Marketing, which lets brands stream videos, engage with customers, and track the usefulness of a video.
