RealNetworks on Your Cell Phone

RealNetworks (http://www.realnetworks.com) and Nokia today announced a deal to bring streaming multimedia to cell phones.

They will implement RealNetworks' RealPlayer technology in Nokia's EPOC based smart phones, so anyone with these devices can experience Real content. The first Nokia EPOC products to be RealPlayer enabled will be available in 2001.

"Streaming media is a good fit with our vision of the Mobile InformationSociety and introduces a new dimension to the mobile phone userexperience,"said Anssi Vanjoki, Executive Vice President, Nokia Mobile Phones.

Rob Glaser, RealNetworks Chairman and CEO, said that the company believes mobile devices will play a "paramount role in the future of computing and information exchange."
