Roku Now Offers 3D Video
In a Roku first, the popular set-top box now delivers broadcast-quality 3D programming. The 3D content comes from WealthTV, a luxury lifestyle and entertainment network, which is making several of its original shows available in 3D.
WealthTV programs currently available in 3D include "Wonders of the World: Statue of Liberty," "The Enchanted Hill: Inside Hearst Castle," and "Wheel on Wheels: The Classic Benz." That 3D library should grow quickly.
"WealthTV is committed to ensuring that 3D enthusiasts have easy access to a wide range of 3D programming," says Robert Herring, Sr., founder and CEO of WealthTV. "Our 3D library and on-going 3D productions will deliver an abundance of entertaining 3D titles via Roku over the coming months."
Roku owners can stream WealthTV's content, including the channel's 24/7 live feed and over 30 on-demand titles, for $2.99 per month. Apparently, you don't need to be wealthy to enjoy their TV shows.
"3D set owners can now turn to Roku as a source for family-friendly and highly entertaining 3D content," says Anthony Wood, founder and CEO of Roku, Inc. "With Wealth TV's inaugural launch of 3D programming on Roku, we're pleased to be a recognized source for consumers looking for a new dimension in television viewing."
