Sonicbox and iBEAM Team For Internet Radio Ad Insertions

Sonicbox (http://www.sonicbox.com) said that it has teamed with iBEAM ( http://www.ibeam.com)to work together on their ad insertion technologies.

Both companies will work together to adopt a common "flagging" specification for marking ad spots in streaming digital audio content.Flagging means that ad spots are marked so that they can be striped over with new, targeted ads for webcast audiences.

"Our agreement with iBEAM marks a change in how stations will selectInternet ad insertion partners by enabling them to focus on revenuerelationships, instead of maintenance of proprietary ad insertion systems,"said Niko Bolas, president of Sonicbox. "Radio stations want to make moneyfrom the Internet, not manage a variety of incompatible advertisingtechnologies that complicate their ability to distribute and monetize theircontent."

Sonicbox says it will also team with iBEAM to provide its iM Band Sonicbox radio stations with streaming delivery using the iBEAM network.
