TDK and Optibase Introduce MPEG-4 Streaming Server Software
TDK and Optibase (http://www.optibase.com) announced today that they have developed a streaming server based on the MPEG-4 standard.
This project was launched in a development alliance, formed in July 1999 to build on MPEG-4 technology. The server is targeted at broadband and cellular telephone markets.
According to Shunjiro Saito, TDK Executive Vice President in charge ofR&D, "TDK is focusing on MPEG-4 technologies as solutions for streaming mediaunder broadband Internet environments and next-generation mobile terminals,both of which are expected to develop greatly in the future. By joiningforces with Optibase, which has a proven track record with MPEG technologies,we hope to respond to the needs of new and expanding markets."
