Talkway Closes $10m Funding Round
Talkway (www.talkway.com) will use the funds for development and distribution, the company said. Talkway's products allow users to send and receive rich media content for both narrowband and broadband delivery.
"Closing this round of funding enables us to further expand our customer base," said Fabrice Hamaide, chief executive officer of Talkway.
Investor firms include Netherlands-based ABN Amro Ventures, and Asset Management Associates and Asset Management Partners, both based in Palo Alto, Calif.
"Talkway has strong technology, infrastructure and OEM revenue model, which makes them an attractive long-term investment", said Ferrell Sanders, general partner of Asset Management Associates.
In June, Western Union announced it was using Talkway's MarketingTalk to support its Web-based Western Union Video Telegram service. In November 1999, Talkway signed an agreement with Earthlink, enabling audio and video e-mails for Earthlink users.
