Telestream ScreenFlow 3.0 Is Optimized for Apple OS X Lion

Telestream has released the 3.0 version of its ScreenFlow screencasting software for the Mac, and this version has been optimized for OS X 10.7 (Lion). The program now takes advantage of the operating system's autosave functionality, making it easier for users to pick up where they left off in the event of a crash.

This version includes several new features, such as freehand callouts, which let the user draw directly on the screen recording with a paintbrush tool, in order to highlight a certain area. Users can also draw on their screen with new video annotations, including circles, squares, lines and arrows.

Editing should be easier thanks to timeline improvements that let users reorder, resize, and remove tracks. Users can also add space or close up gaps between tracks while editing, as well as group or ungroup clips.

Audio is key in online video, and ScreenFlow 3.0 lets users make volume changes in the timeline and instantly see the results. Users can also now customize and manage their export presets, creating favorite settings that they can save and reuse.

"We are committed to continuing the innovation of our award-winning ScreenFlow products with this release," says Barbara DeHart, vice president of marketing at Telestream. "ScreenFlow 3.0 allows software developers, trainers, educators, and bloggers to quickly and efficiently capture, edit, and create amazing video tutorials, promos, and training videos that enhance the learning experience and online product demonstrations."

ScreenFlow 3.0 is available for a free trial. A full version is $99, while upgrades cost $29.
