Tremor Acquires Transpera
In a move that highlights the growing importance of mobile video advertising, Tremor Media has acquired Transpera. Transpera is a leader in mobile video advertising, and Tremor is the leading online video advertising company. The deal will help Tremor grow its mobile video advertising efforts.
Terms of the acquisition weren't disclosed.
With the two company's combined specialties, Tremor will be able to offer advertisers a way to reach a large connected audience with a single media buy. Advertisers will find it simpler to manage their creative assets and view performance reports.
"The continued acceleration of consumer adoption of smart phones and tablets makes mobile devices an increasingly important part of an advertiser's media plan and moving into the mobile space is a strategic extension of Tremor Media's current offering-we can help advertisers reach their consumer wherever they may be in a simplified way," says Bill Day, Tremor Media's CEO.
Tremor has been in on a spending spree, as it acquired ScanScout in November, 2010.
"We are excited to be part of Tremor Media, furthering our combined leadership in video advertising," says Frank Barbieri, Transpera's chairman and CEO. "The combination of our mobile platform and footprint, and Tremor Media's own success in digital video advertising will help solve a lot of the challenges our publisher and advertiser customers face in this fast-moving market."
