Trimark Pictures Licenses Titles in Exchange for Equity in C-3D Digital
In an unusual deal, Trimark Pictures announced that it is licensing its movie titles to C-3D Digital in exchange for equity in the company.
Films from Trimark's library, which contain over 600 titles, will be converted to 3D using C-3D Digital's process. The deal with Trimark also includes a revenue sharing arrangement for the 3D versions of the movies sold on DVD and VHS.
"Trimark is an excellent company with terrific properties," stated J. Michael Heil, chairman and chief executive officer of C-3D Digital. "In our arrangement with Trimark, we gain a powerful shareholder and access to great films for 3D conversion. This arrangement will significantly boost content for both our C-3D Television Network."
C-3D Digital manufactures 3D imagery and virtual reality equipment for television and the Internet. It will launch 3D.COM (http://www.3d.com), a site dedicated to virtual reality/3-D portal/e-commerce that will launch in mid-2000.
