Unicorn and Iris.TV Partner on Personalized Streams
Online video solutions company Unicorn Media and video recommendation service Iris.TV announced a partnership to provide personalized streaming services to publishers. The offering lets publishers stream personalized videos to viewers on any platform, while inserting dynamically served ads.
Iris.TV's Adaptive Stream technology promises to let publishers increase revenue by streaming more videos and targeted ads. The combined offering works without an SDK or plug-in, and is compatible with any consumer device.
Unicorn chose to work with Iris.TV, says Chuck Parker, the company's chief revenue officer, because its recommendation system and analytics tools are strong.
Unicorn is known for its Unicorn Once server-side technology, which lets publishers deliver video to multiple platforms with a single URL. Once lets clients insert pre-, mid-, and post-roll ads to both live and on-demand streams without the need of client-side software.
"Given the overall video consumption growth in mobile devices, we see the partnership's focus on mobile launching us to become the market leader for video recommendations," says Robert Bardunias, chief revenue officer for Iris.TV. "While mobile usage has doubled in size, content creators have dealt with the fragmentation of multiple operating systems, manufacturers, and web standards. The Unicorn Media and Iris.TV partnership mitigates all of those concerns and creates a simple, profitable solution that requires zero app development costs."
