V-SPAN Gets Undisclosed Investment from Enron
Enron made an investment in video networking company V-SPAN (http://www.vspan.com) today.
The amount of the investment wasn't disclosed.
This is in addition to a $28 million investment led by Goldman Sachs & Co. in June.
V-SPAN has created a broadband videoconferencing portal for use by ISPs and businesses.
"We are excited about this relationship with Enron, which will help drive the deployment of IP networks, enabling global collaboration without user concern for the underlying infrastructure and reliability," said Ken Hayward, President of V-SPAN.
Enron and V-SPAN will work together to deliver multimedia using Enron's broadband network.
"Enron recognizes V-SPAN as a leader in providing the back office service and technology for people and organizations to collaborate over broadband networks," said Kevin Hannon, President and COO of Enron Broadband Services. "Our investment in V-SPAN demonstrates our commitment to supporting the right industry players to drive broadband use and satisfy the business needs of customers."
