Virage Launches Online Video Syndication Application
Online video services provider Virage, announced the release of a full-service video syndication application for the Web, at Streaming Media West in San Jose.
Syndication Manager 2.0 was built upon Virage's Video Application Program, which enables the creation and distribution of video streams, and gives content owners greater flexibility in content distribution. According to the company, the manager allows content owners to classify content into packages and set up specific business rules for syndication with distribution affiliates.
"The Virage Syndication Manager is a highly valuable and strategic application for delivering video via the Internet," said Karl Slatoff, vice president of new media with BMG Entertainment, in a statement. "The flexibility, security and control provided by the Virage Syndication Manager 2.0 gives us the capability to deliver a superior content service."
Virage has provided video syndication services for such customers as C-SPAN, with its Campaign 2000 Video Search Engine, and provided video search capabilities for customers such as Reuters and General Motors.
