Yahoo Live Streaming 180 MLB Games During 2016, One Each Day

Sports fans can enjoy live game coverage no matter where they are: The NFL and Twitter announced a deal to stream 10 Thursday regular season games, and Yahoo has announced that it will stream 180 MLB games—one a day—over the current season.

Yahoo posted a schedule for April on Yahoo Sports. Spreading the love around, Yahoo notes that all 30 teams will plan in at least one live streamed game in April. For fans looking for a link, game videos will show up on the Yahoo Sports homepage.

Yahoo hasn't yet announced game schedules for the following months. Hopefully, they'll give baseball fans some notice: Multiple comments on the launch article show fans were displeased the announcement wasn't made several days prior to the first live game.

The live streams will be blocked out in the teams' local markets. Yahoo is announcing that the games will stream for free, and they don't appear to require pay TV authentication.

Yahoo has experienced setbacks to its video plans in the last year, and is greatly scaling back its NewFront presentation in May, where it presents upcoming series to advertisers. This news, however, shows that live video events are still prominent in Yahoo's strategy.
