e.Biscom Selects Vsoft's VIDEOCLICK@HOME

Vsoft Ltd (http://www.vsoft.com), an Israeli company, announced that their VideoClick@Home broadband video services software will be implemented in the e.Biscom project.

e.Biscom (http://www.ebiscom.it) is an Italian broadband company comprised of five companies: Metroweb, FastWeb, Video Portal, B2Biscom and e.Voci. e.Biscom is currently the second largest broadband company in Italy, falling behind Telecom Italia. e.Biscom is laying a high capacity fiber network in order to reach more than 500 urban centers in Italy, 46 of which have more than 100,000 inhabitants. As there are no cable operators in Italy, e.Biscom is the first to offer broadband to the Italian residential market.

e.Biscom is currently building the broadband infrastructure necessary for multimedia services to gain momentum in the country. In addition, e.Biscom manages the creation of video Internet content and B2B services. e.Biscom will use the VideoClick@Home software for delivery of advanced video services to the home.

Vsoft states that Videoclick@Home is capable of handling multiple concurrent streams of high quality MPEG-2 video for movies-on-demand and news-on-demand. VideoClick provides the functionality of a VCR with advanced functions such as bookmarking.
