Imagine and VDMS Partner on Multiscreen OTT Distribution System

Imagine Communications and Verizon Digital Media Services announced that they're partnering to create a comprehensive solution that lets broadcasters stream their linear content to online viewers. The solution combines Imagine's broadcast routing, playout, and trafficking abilities with VDMS's video encoding, management, and content delivery network.

The combined solution integrates VDMS's Video Lifecycle Solution into Imagine's Zenium. A software-based workflow management platform, Zenium gives broadcasters a fast and flexible way to architect new workflows or use existing workflow blueprints, getting end-to-end systems up and running quickly. Video Lifecycle Solution prepares media for online delivery, encoding live or on-demand assets, then streaming them for multiscreen viewers.

“By combining our end-to-end video management solutions with Verizon’s industry-leading content delivery infrastructure, we are creating a dynamic and powerful combination that helps broadcasters more easily and effectively deliver their linear programming directly to end-users regardless of location or preferred device,” says Charlie Vogt, chief executive officer for Imagine Communications.

"The combination of our two companies’ capabilities allows these media companies to rapidly develop new workflows and content for distribution to their over-the-top audiences," adds Robert Toohey, president of Verizon Digital Media Services.
