V-SPAN and CMGI Solutions to Develop Broadband Conferencing Portal
V-SPAN (http://www.v-span.com) announced a deal with CMGI Solutions (
http://www.cmgisolutions.com) to develop a broadband collaboration portal. The new web portal will be released in first quarter 2000, says V-SPAN.
The application is called Internet Broadband Application Platform (iBAP) and will allow business users to collaborate in a web-based, reservationless environment.
"CMGI Solutions has been instrumental in the development of the first Web-based broadband communication application. The iBAP application was developed in response to our customer's demands for the ability to collaborate with any hardware or network instantaneously via a standard Web browser. This V-SPAN technology will ultimately make broadband collaboration effortless", said Ken Hayward, President and Founder of V-SPAN.
Users will be able to collaborate via video, schedule and reserve conferences, access billing/management reporting, participate in stored or real-time streamed training programs, plus other interactive multimedia capabilities.
