RealNetworks Premieres Live-Ad Insertion Solution

RealNetworks announced the deployment of a live Internet ad insertion solution for video and radio programming through its Real Broadcast Network.

Internet broadcasters can use the RealServer 7.0 to insert advertising into both live TV and live radio broadcasts.

"Withthese live-ad insertion capabilities, broadcasters have a clear opportunity toextend the reach of their broadcasts via the Internet and accelerate theirbusiness by doubling their advertising inventory," saidMartin Plaehn, senior vice president, Media Systems, RealNetworks, Inc.

The Ackerley Group, a Seattle-based media and entertainment company, willbe the first video implementation of this service through its Rochester, N.Y., ABC station WOKR-TV (http://www.rochestertoday.com/real), beginning May 1st.

The first two radio stations will be ABC Radio's WKHX,101.5 Kicks in Atlanta, GA (http://www.wkhx.com) and BroadcastAmerica.com's KAAK, in Grand Falls, MT (http://www.broadcastamerica.com).
