CanalWeb Creates UK Subsidiary

French webcaster CanalWeb (www.canalweb.net) said today it was teaming up with UK company H2P, to create CanalWeb UK, a new subsidiary.

CanalWeb UK says it will position itself as a provider, developer and aggregator of entertainment content.

H2P and CanalWeb UK will develop online British programs using CanalWeb's look and feel. Viewers will be able to chat with hosts and other net viewers while watching online.

H2P, is the brainchild of Mathew Horsman and Fred Hasson, both of whom have worked in new media and television.

Horsman is research director, at Investec Henderson Crosthwaite Securities and Hasson just resigned from the board of interactive media company Victoria Real.
