Streaming Media Corp to Use Inktomi Software

Streaming Media Corporation (SMC) (www.smc.net), a specialized broadband media delivery network company, and Inktomi Corp. ( www.inktomi.com), developer of scalable Internet infrastructure software, announced that SMC will integrate Inktomi Media Products technology across its North American network, in order to enable its customers to offer scalable live streaming services to their Web users.

The Inktomi media distribution platform provides SMC with core software-based infrastructure technology for centralized network management and broadband content distribution, to deliver, monitor and enhance online live and scheduled replay programming to large-scale audiences.

The integrated Inktomi product suite supports all three of the major streaming player formats streamlining network management and reduce bandwidth requirements.
