HBO Launches New Internet-Only Show
HBO Sports is planning to launch a new show On the Record with Bob Costas on Valentine's Day, and they are hoping that all the flowers and adulation go to the sister website,
www.hbo.com. After the program is broadcast on HBO, they are hoping to lure the audience over to the Net where Costas will continue the program with his guests and accept questions from the Internet viewers.
The Web portion of On the Record with Bob Costas will feature many interactive applications that allow the audience to become a part of the series. Participants can chat, answer polls and pose questions to Costas and guests, during a roundtable discussion. The interactive format also affords the possibility of Costas posing questions that users can respond to.
"Like the show itself, the interactive element to On the Record with Bob Costas will be a unique programming experience that will bring the audience right into the HBO studio," said Ross Greenburg, president of HBO Sports.
To partake in the show, users can login with a name and password registered at the HBO Costas site home page. The site features a clock counting down the minutes and seconds to the start of the interactive show.
