Bulldog and Telestream Partner for Transcoding Video
The Bulldog Group (www.bulldog.com) and TeleStream (
www.telestream.net) announced a partnership to integrate Telestream's FlipFactory transcoding technology into Bulldog's digital asset management software.
Bulldog is a digital asset management software provider that lets users acquire, store, browse, manage, and distribute digital media for the Internet and TV platforms. Customers include Sony Pictures Entertainment, Microsoft Studios, and Open Interactive.
The technologies will let customers transcode video from one format to another within the Bulldog application.
"With the growing demand for streaming media in multiple formats, many of our video-producing customers are faced with the cumbersome task of transcoding their video from one file format to another," says Chris Strachan, CEO of The Bulldog Group.
The companies said the solution targets broadcasters repurposing content for the Web, or corporations delivering material via corporate intranets.
"By eliminating format and delivery issues altogether and simplifying the process of creating streaming formats and getting them onto Web sites, FlipFactory technology is perfectly suited for integration with Bulldog software," says Dan Castles, CEO from Telestream. "Our combined technologies allow us to meet the current and future needs of our customers by providing a single video content management solution - from transcoding to indexing, cataloging, and distribution - that is versatile enough to accommodate new video formats as they become available."
Earlier this week, Telestream unveiled its FlipFactory Pro software targeted to broadcasters. It works by automatically transcoding and delivering media from their broadcast servers to streaming servers.
