NSPCC Launches Online Appeal with Hollywood Actress

Britain's National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NSPCC) has launched a streaming ad campaign featuring Oscar-nominated actress Emily Watson.

The campaign calls for "children's commissioners" to be set up across the UK to represent and protect children. Watson, star of Lars Von Trier's Breaking the Waves, directs users to the non-profit's campaign Web site ( www.nspcc.org.uk), asking them to lobby parliamentary candidates through their local media. The site provides users with a letter template for local newspapers and members of Parliament.

The NSPCC will further develop its streaming capability, created by London-based Groovy Gecko (www.groovygecko.com), following the launch of the Watson campaign.
