Clicker Goes Mobile with Two Apps

While there are a few sites aimed at helping viewers navigate online video, Clicker has broken through the crowd to quickly become a major name. The site recently added a new level to its service by adding Clicker Social and Clicker Mobile.

Clicker Social lets members of the site share their viewing habits and recommendations with their social circle, and also view the recommendations and viewing history of others. Members can choose to follow their friends or people they don't know but whose recommendations they enjoy. This page on the Clicker Blog tells members how to get started with Clicker Social.

"You'll see your playlist, your viewing history, your awards, your followers, and who's following you all in one simple, centralized place," the blog post says.

Along with Clicker Social comes Clicker Mobile, which brings your recommendations and favorites list to your iPhone or Android phone. It also delivers streaming content to your mobile. The Android app is currently available for free download, and the iPhone app is expected to be available later this week.

The Clicker Mobile blog post doesn't mention whether or not the app will be available for the Apple iPad.

The creators are hoping that members will check in with their viewing updates no matter where they are, giving up-to-the-minute information to friends and followers. While the site is a helpful directory, it's hard to see it transitioning to an essential mobile app, like Facebook or Foursquare.

"Using a Clicker Mobile app, you'll be able to manage your profile, keep track of your friends' activity streams, check-in to shows you're watching, and earn awesome awards," the post promises.
