Kyte Offers Live Video to Apple iOS Devices

Delivering video on demand to Apple iOS mobile devices isn't enough, anymore. The next hurdle is delivering live video. Online video platform Kyte announced today that it has updated its iOS Application Framework and SDK so that developers can create apps that serve live video and audio. The tools also allow live streaming to iOS devices through HTML5-based websites.

"Publishers on the Kyte Platform can now easily broadcast high quality live video to Web, iPhone, and iPad audiences simultaneously," said Gannon Hall, COO at Kyte.

The live streaming can work in conjunction with Kyte's social networking options, such as Facebook and Twitter sharing, the company points out. Developers can also choose new video and audio advertising opportunities using HTML5 ads served by third-party platforms such as Doubleclick DART. This lets them add pre-roll or post-roll ads to their streams.

"Our expanded social features and HTML5 advertising options provide new opportunities for reaching and monetization rapidly growing mobile audiences," adds Hall

Kyte is a cloud-based publishing platform for streaming either live or on-demand video or audio. It's used by ABC, CBS, Clear Channel, Fox News, MTV, and more.
