Video search engine Blinkx has announced that it will soon launch its own app on the Boxee platform, letting Boxee users search Blinkx's library of over 35 million hours of video.

Boxee users will be able to find the app in the Boxee App Library.

Besides offering searchable content, the Blinkx app will offer three entertainment channels. The Popular channel will highlight a curated selection of the day's hottest videos, including celebrity news and amazing human feats. The News channel will present world news culled from Blinkx's Inform Me channel. Finally, the Fun channel will entertain with a selection of bloopers, stunts, pranks, and cute animals.

"The Blinkx app, which combines our robust search technology with our massive index of online video, perfectly complements Boxee's existing entertainment options and will further allow Boxee users to find, discover, and enjoy the best that Internet video has to offer," says Suranga Chandratillake, founder and CEO of Blinkx.

"Boxee's mission is to bring all the stuff people love watching on the Web onto their TVs in a way that makes sense and we're thrilled to offer Blinkx on our platform," says Andrew Kippen, vice president of marketing for Boxee.
