The 2011 Streaming Media Readers' Choice Awards: Now Accepting Nominations
From its inception in 2007, the Streaming Media Readers' Choice Awards has more than doubled in size. The inaugural awards drew votes from more than 3,000 readers, while in 2010 that number swelled to more than 7,000 readers who cast a total of more than 58,000 votes for products in 22 categories.
This year's awards promise to be the biggest yet. We've increased the number of categories to 24, with the addition of cloud transcoding and live video streaming service, and we'll be presenting the awards during a special lunch open to all attendees of Streaming Media West in Los Angeles on November 9.
The process is simple. First, we're looking for nominations, either from vendors themselves or from their end users. You can submit your nominations until September 12, at which time we'll sort through them all, make sure they're all valid and in the correct categories, and then post them online at www.streamingmedia.com/readerschoice on September 19. So be sure to get your nominations in before IBC!
Then, we open up for reader voting. Readers can vote in as many categories as they want; last year the typical voter cast their vote in 8 categories. Then we'll get rid of duplicate votes and post the finalists—the top three vote-getters in each category—on October 24. By that time, we'll know the winners, but won't reveal them until the luncheon on November 9.
So submit your nominations today, and watch for the list of nominees on September 29.
Thanks to this year's Streaming Media Readers' Choice Awards Sponsors: Platinum—Digital Rapids, Highwinds, ViewCast, and Wowza Media Systems; Gold—Telestream.
