What kinds of videos did people search for on their mobile devices in 2011? Vuclip, a mobile video service that served 560 million video views in December alone, has released a year-end list. Lada Gaga and Kim Kardashian took the top spots, suggesting that pre-teens and teens are doing most of the searching.

Vuclip's top ten mobile video searches in the U.S. for 2011 were: Lady Gaga, Kim Kardashian, Nicki Minaj, Shakira, Family Guy, Michael Jackson, Justin Bieber, Drake, Lil Wayne, and Naruto. So that's seven music acts, two cartoons, and one reality TV star. No surprise that Vevo is the second most popular video site in the U.S.: music videos are in demand.

"With more than three million searches performed on Vuclip every day, our search data always yields a variety of interesting nuggets," says Judith Coley, vice president of marketing at Vuclip. "But when we look at the enormous number of searches on the hottest celebrities, it blows us away."

Vuclip's monthly reports, which include detailed search results for other countries, as well as information on what mobile devices were used for searching, can be downloaded for free.
