Livestream Announces NewTek TriCaster Plugin
Video creators that want to stream live events using a NewTek TriCaster now have a time-saving one-click option: Livestream has announced a plugin that delivers H.264/AAC encoding and one-click HD 720p multibitrate encoding, including Apple iOS compatibility, without requiring an external encoder.
The only thing registered TriCaster users need to do to get the plug-in is upgrade to rev.4. The plugin, which was created using the TriCaster SDK, is part of the software upgrade.
Livestream has created a video showing how the plugin works.
"We're excited that Livestream is the first to embrace the TriCaster SDK," says Andrew Cross, NewTek's CTO. "Our goal was to open TriCaster to developers who will make it even easier for live content creators to produce and deliver dynamic programming across all platforms. This development on the part of Livestream shows their commitment to leadership in this industry."
Livestream offers ad-supported free accounts and premium business accounts.
Streaming Media recently reviewed the NewTek TriCaster TCXD850 Extreme all-in-one video mixer, praising its future-proofing approach that allows upgrades to be performed in the field as a software upgrade. "Kudos to NewTek for keeping the customer's long-term expansion goals in mind," said reviewer Tim Siglin.
