Shodogg Looks to Take a Bite Out of the B2B Market

This dog has learned a new trick. Shodogg made a splash at International CES 2012 as a connected TV solution that lets users send content from a mobile device to their living room TV. A year later, the company is pivoting away from consumer and working with the business-to-business market. Shodogg announced the release of ScreenDirect, a B2B solution that tackles the same need: sending content from a mobile device to another screen.

One company already using ScreenDirect is Quadriga, which creates in-room entertainment systems for the hospitality industry. Quadriga uses ScreenDirect in its Personal Media Network service, letting hotel guests send content from a mobile device to a hotel room's TV. At the 2012 Equip' Hotel Industry Conference and Exhibition in Paris, Quadriga's service took the Equip'Innov award as the most innovative technology product.

Shodogg notes that ScreenDirect doesn't require any additional hardware beyond a screen connected to the internet. Content streamed to a second screen isn't downloaded or saved, so there are no security concerns.

Since its launch in 2011, Shodogg has raised $2.8 million in seed funding. RSL Venture Partners made a recent investment, and producer/actor Seth Green is a previous investor. Shodogg is planning a Series A funding round in the second half of this year.
