Verimatrix Improves Streaming Options in Pay TV Security Solution

Content security company Verimatrix introduced the profile for VCAS Ultra, its improved Video Content Authority System (VCAS) architecture. This profile focuses on agility and efficiency, the company says, and includes support for HLS, MPEG-DASH, multi-DRM, HEVC, and multi-track audio.

With ultra-high definition (UHD) video growing in importance, VCAS Ultra includes security profiles that meet service requirements created by MovieLabs, with features such as multi-network VideoMark watermarking and TrustZone support. This version also responds to the trend to IP- and software-based workflows by offering physical and virtual configurations that support cloud integrations. These include server, virtual, and mixed deployment modes, and work with Verimatrix's cloud-based integration partners.

Providing better customer feedback, VCAS Ultra provides an improved system for monitoring operational and customer performance, delivering analytics that help clients better their performance.

Verimatrix has created VCAS Ultra with pre-configured deployment architectures for broadcast-hybrid, IPTV, and OTT network configurations. Backwards compatibility with previous VCAS versions should make upgrading a simple operation.

“The introduction of UHD services, combined with more pervasive IP and hybrid network services, will push operators to re-think their security strategy in order to optimize revenue security while reducing operational costs,” says Petr Peterka, CTO for Verimatrix. “A harmonized revenue security architecture, such as VCAS Ultra, enables the deployment of a transparent security regime across all the network and device types that subscribers demand."

Verimatrix will show VCAS Ultra at IBC in booth 4.A55.
