Wim Sweldens

Co-Founder and Chief Marketing Officer, Kiswe

Wim Sweldens is the co-founder and CMO of Kiswe, a pioneer in D2C streaming technology that redefines how fans interact with live events. He is also the leader of Kiswe’s Athlete Moment project at the Olympics which allowed remote family members and friends to connect directly with athletes, enhancing the athletic Olympic experience through high quality real-time video interaction. Sweldens, a visionary in communications, previously led Alcatel-Lucent’s Wireless Division, driving the global rollout of LTE 4G technology. He also developed the wavelet lifting scheme, a breakthrough in data compression foundational to JPEG 2000 and MPEG4. With over 30 patents and extensive expertise, Sweldens continues to innovate in fan engagement and live digital experiences, impacting millions worldwide. Wim has a PhD in Applied Mathematics, is a fellow of the IEEE, and a member of the Belgian Royal Academy of Sciences.
