CDMA
Acronym:Code Division Multiple Access
Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) is a ""spread spectrum"" technology. Similar to frequency hopping spread spectrum, CDMA spreads the information contained in a particular signal over a much greater bandwidth than the original signal. When implemented in a cellular telephone system, CDMA technology offers numerous benefits to the cellular operators, such as longer-range cell calls and the ability to interleave a greater number of calls or data requests on a single tower. Replaced by CDMA2000.
