Keyframe interval

Keyframes had their start in animation compression but have persisted even in modern video codecs, under the concept of an I frame. The interval between keyframes determines both the overall storage or bandwidth requirements as well as the potential to maintain visually lossless images when using a lossy compression technique or codec. The more motion in an image, or the more complex an image, the more likely that keyframe intervals will need to be shortened.
