MVNO

Mobile virtual network operators are wireless companies offering a branded service that rides on the cellular or fixed-line capacities of an incumbent carrier. MVNOs own neither the network nor the services offered on the network, yet they compete with incumbent carriers through pricing discounts—passing along some of the bulk-buy savings the MVNO derives from the incumbent carrier—or through the use of special services such as exclusive mobile access to premium video content.
