RAID
Acronym:Random Array of Inexpensive Disks
A grouping of hard drives, along with a software- or hardware-based controller, that either stripes data equally across the multiple disks (for faster reads) or replicates data across multiple discs (for slower, but redundant reads). RAID levels are set from 0-5, with 0 being the fastest reads and 5 being the most redundant (n +1)
